HCA Creative Director, Lauren McCowan celebrates individual hair type and texture and shows us how she created a twisted bun for C/MEO Collective at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2018.
With a focus on enhancing natural hair type - the C/MEO Collective runway show at MBFWA18 saw undone knotted buns, loose, relaxed waves and ringlet curls, dusted with chic hair beads from Kela Hair Jewellery.
“I wanted to explore the two biggest trends globally right now which is the 'Art of the Individual' and 'Self Acceptance' - exploring and celebrating each models individual hair type and texture. Working and building a beautiful base, quality to the hair and then using Cloud Nine to seal that in and create beautiful finishes without compromising the quality of each girls hair" - Lauren McCowan says.
Create the twisted bun in just 7 simple steps using essential tools, Cloud Nine Airshot and Cloud Nine Micro Iron.

Get the Look: Twisted Bun
1. Dampen hair with Evo Day of Grace and brush through to hydrate and prepare hair for styling.
2. Whilst the hair is still damp, apply Evo Salty Dog to the hairline, then layer with Evo Water Killer. Use the Cloud Nine Airshot to blow-dry product into hair to create lift and an airy texture.
3. Use a wide tooth comb to scrape hair back into a ponytail and secure just below the crown with an elastic bungee.
4. Split the ponytail into two and tie both sections of hair into knots to create a twisted bun. Secure with a clear elastic and hair pins to keep the hair tight and to lock into shape.
5. Pull out the ends of the hair from the bun to create a tail.
6. Use a bristle brush to brush the front hairline forward to loosen fly-a-aways. Polish in some texture with the Cloud Nine Micro Iron and Evo Builders Paradise for a considered finish through the front.
7. Apply a dusting of Kela hair beads for a chic, effortless elegance finish.
