evo Talks Festival Hair…

Sitting around in a field for days on end can be a nightmare for your hair but with a little evo in your pocket and some inspiration you can be ready for whatever mosh pit or hippie love circle you get mixed up in…

Come over all hazy with evo haze styling powder, perfect for that worn in rock chick look to give your hair the body and texture it needs after sleeping in a sweaty tent and getting major pillow hair!

Every girl (and boy’s) rucksack wouldn’t be complete without THE festival must-have - dry shampoo!! Remember to pack your evo water killer dry shampoo for when your hair is suffering from a severe attack of the grease.

Right, enough evo talk… now to the festival hair styles of 2011 that we love!

Head Gear

All sorts are a winner with us, bandanas, scarfs, turbans and even an indian headdress rocks our world! You’ve got to love a bit of head gear; it always saves a bad hair day!

Curly Wurly

You can’t beat a good worn in curl for a festival, the more you wear it in the better it looks, see our friends MYCURL for an easy peasy way to get your curl before you hit the fields, then add some texture spray (#sayasIcoughobviously# builders paradise working spray) to give it that extra oomph.

Top Knots

The trusty top knot is always a faithful friend and gives that Croydon face lift you’ve always dreamt of and a quasi modelesque look. Lock your knot in with a mister fantastic hair bungee and a bit of evo helmet finishing spray.

Cheryl Brings Back Big Hair

Hair icon of the moment Cheryl Cole hits another home run with her ridiculously big hair at the US X Factor auditions. Showcasing some serious va-va voom hair Cheryl showed that bigger is always better!

Not even 24 hours later style icon SJP gave big hair a nod as she worked it at the Robin Hood Foundation annual benefit in New York.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen maaaaaaassive hair like this before, exercise queen and Barbarella star Jane Fonda rocked this exact look back in the 60’s and the super glam cast of Dynasty and Dallas stars went wild for backcombing and lashings of hairspray in the 80’s.

We have to say that we kinda like the big bouffant look, although it may not be quite right for a night at your local. evo was born to create big hair and we have the exact ingredients you need to get the thickness and texture you crave no matter how skinny and lifeless your hair is.

Start your do by washing with evo gluttony shampoo and evo bride of gluttony conditioner which is gorged with protein and film formers to penetrate and coat the hair and then physically fatten hair.

Add evo shape vixen body giving juice to damp hair to add body, give style support, define and hold curl, separate and add texture.

Blow-dry hair using a large radial brush pointing the nozzle at the root to give extra volume and then put sections of hair into hot rollers.

Once you’ve achieved the curl get that extra kick with evo haze styling powder which will give you some serious oomph and added texture.

Secure your new seriously sexy big hair with evo helmet finishing which will provide maximum control, hold and body.

    Milkmaid Braids

As we all know spring summer is THE time for working a braid and this season we, at the evo lab are all about the milkmaid braid as seen on countless celebs but we like it like our martini, with an extra twist, as seen on the catwalk of Rachel Roy and Oscar De La Renta.

Get the look by creating a simple middle parting to the nape of the neck and divide into two low ponytails using an evo mister fantastic bungee, apply a little evo easy tiger smoothing fluid to the ponytails which will help to tame and control, fight frizz and flyaways. Then braid each ponytail winding a length of your chosen fabric throughout and secure at the end with a further bungee and evo helmet finishing spray for extra hold. Once the two braids are completed, secure over the crown with kirby grips giving the appearance of one continuous plait.

    Voila! Milkmaid braids complete!
